COI relies on the generosity of our community for 50% of its resources.
In 2024, we:
Provided 1,772 free medical visits.
Distributed 100,000+ pounds of food.
Supported 7,325 neighbors in crisis.
Since COVID, community giving has tapered off significantly for COI and many other donation-based organizations. To continue our transformative programs, we must fill the gaps in our funding since the pandemic.

COI does not use donated funds to advocate for political, religious, or other causes.
We simply do what we do: serve people.

Why Your Support Matters
COI cannot and will not continue to exist without the support of a community of caring people and organizations that believe in helping people help themselves to lead healthy and productive lives.
We receive funding from individuals, businesses, faith-based organizations, foundations, and government agencies. Everyone’s collective generosity is required to make COI sustainable—every donation matters in someone’s life transformation.
Currently, most government agency funds are accompanied by heavy regulations and imposed restrictions based on the type of program offered. Because our shelter requires a sober environment, many funding sources are unavailable to COI.
Private donations help us continue our Transformative Pathways Programs, which have a life-altering impact on the individuals who participate in them.
Other Ways You Can Get Involved
If your financial circumstances do not permit a monetary donation, there are other ways to support our work.
Spread the word about who we are, what we do, and why our work matters. Ask the people you talk to to get involved and donate.
The people who come to our shelter sometimes have nothing but the clothes they are wearing. Items to fulfill their basic needs are necessary.
As a board member, you can become a vital part of our programming, helping to develop and adapt programs and services to participants’ changing needs.

COI creates transformative pathways for people to exit homelessness and enter permanent housing. We aim to help them make this transition and give them the tools to sustain their new, improved ways of living.
We do this by helping people create lasting solutions and giving them life skills to face and embrace change in healthy ways. Supporting our work means investing in individuals and families so they can become stable, productive members of our community.
