Nature-Based Childcare
Mari’s Place is a nature-based, state-licensed childcare center for children aged 6 weeks through 5 years. Mari’s Place is inspired by the Curiosity Approach pedagogy and provides a cozy, home-like classroom setting, with authentic resources and loose parts play to stimulate children’s interests and creativity.
Mari’s Place supports children by offering open-ended, child-led art, ample free play and lots of outside time. The daily rhythm in the classrooms is designed to meet the unique needs of families and provide consistent, nurturing care that parents can depend on.
Our Program
Located Next to Community Outreach, Mari’s Place has two mixed-age classrooms, which include our Infant/Wobbler Room (ages 6 weeks to 2.5 years) and our Toddler/Preschool Room (ages 2.5 years to 5 years). We have a ratio of 1 Teacher to every 4 children in the Infant/Wobbler Room and a ratio of 1 Teacher to every 10 children in the Toddler/Preschool Room.
All staff complete a background check through both the Oregon Childcare Licensing Division and the Oregon Department of Human Services. Staff must also maintain current First Aide/CPR certification and Food Handlers card, as well as training in Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect.
Mari’s Place prioritizes enrollment for families receiving ERDC but will take self-pay enrollments if space is available.
Morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack are provided.
Mari’s Place is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
